SERVICES
HEALTH
FAMILY HEALTH
Being healthy as a family is just as important as striving to be a healthy, happy individual. Without caring for the health of the family, the long term wellness of everyone living under your roof can be at risk. We find ways and share ideas to help you and your family members stay well all year long. Once we get to know you, our conversations with you are designed to find ways to help you sustain family well-being.
IMMUNIZATIONS
Viruses and bacteria that cause illness can be passed on to those who are not protected by vaccines. Just as people can easily travel across Iowa or the rest of the planet, it’s not hard to see how easily diseases can travel too. Vaccines will help keep you healthy. We recommend vaccinations from birth through adulthood to provide a lifetime of protection against many diseases and infections.
LAB TESTING
At Walnut Street Health & Wellness, our experienced team is able to conduct comprehensive lab testing in order to test anything that's related to a medical exam or a required bio sampling. Our lab can test for diabetes, glucose, thyroid, hemoglobin A1C, and much more. We require that 12 hours of fasting takes place prior to any lab testing draws.
HORMONE BALANCE
Hormones are incredible chemical messengers in our body that affect our brain, heart, bones, muscles and reproductive organs. They are an essential part of the workings of every cell in the human body. While hormones are best when balanced, they can throw anyone off when they become imbalanced. We work with men and women to ensure proper hormone treatment and long-term balance.
EXAMS
WELL-CHILD CHECKS
Childhood is a time of rapid growth and change. Children should have more well-child visits when they are younger as their development is faster during these years. Each visit includes a complete physical exam. With each exam, we check your child's growth and development to find or prevent problems. Even if your child is healthy, well-child visits are a good time to focus on your child's health. We talk with you and your child about ways to improve care and prevent problems to keep your child healthy.
EMPLOYER/SCHOOL FITNESS
Many of our patients visit us to complete a physical exam that is required either by their employer or by schools that request a thorough physical prior to entering sports, a new job or other physically-dependent requirements. At Walnut Street Health & Wellness, we can complete the exam based on the specifications that are requested by the employer or the school, and can submit the results for the patient. We are thorough and meet all exam standards for this program.
