February is American Heart Month
An adult heart pumps more than a gallon of blood per minute – enough to fill 38,000 drinking glasses each day.
But every year, 1 in 4 deaths is caused by not taking care of your heart, the body's most valuable organ.
February is American Heart Month, and here are just a few hints to help your heart — and your body — be healthy and complete.
• Make physical activity a part of your daily routine. • Research has shown that having social support and personal networks makes getting regular physical activity easier. • Choose spices to flavor foods rather than salt. • Quit smoking.
Healthy choices coupled with regular check-ups to manage existing conditions can also significantly reduce, if not eliminate, your risk of heart disease.
Take care of your body, and it will take care of you.
Stay healthy, stay well, friends. We're here for you.
